As Bryce and Hunt dig deep into Crescent City’s underbelly, they discover a dark power that threatens everything and everyone they hold dear, and they find, in each other, a blazing passion-one that could set them both free, if they’d only let it.

My Thoughts: This book. I still don’t know exactly how to put into words how it made me feel. I loved almost everything about it. But, it broke my heart over and over.
Things that broke my heart: Everything about Danika. They betrayal at the end of part 3. ALL OF PART 4. Bryce and Hunt. Bryce and Ruhn. Lehabah.
I absolutely loved that this was a fantasy book but also a murder/mystery. Two of my favorite genres in one. I honesty wish the rest of the series would see Bryce and Hunt as investigators, but I don’t think that’s how it’s going to go.
Bryce and Hunt both had spectacular character development, even if at times it seemed like they weren’t all that great. The world building was amazing, I could picture it all in my head. The side characters were also amazing. I hate when there is a side character with no real development or benefit to the story.
I had to take a break after book 1 to emotionally prepare myself for book 2, but I can’t wait to continue.
