Summary: Victor and Eli started out as college roommates―brilliant, arrogant, lonely boys who recognized the same sharpness and ambition in each other. In their senior year, a shared research interest in adrenaline, near-death experiences, and seemingly supernatural events reveals an intriguing possibility: that under the right conditions, someone could develop extraordinary abilities. But when their thesis moves from the academic to the experimental, things go horribly wrong…

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

My Thoughts: Overall, for the duology, I give it 4 stars. Vicious (book 1) was 5 stars and Vengeful (book 2) was 3 stars. I heard there will be a third book at some point, making this a trilogy. I hope it’s better than book 2.

Ok, Vicious was amazing. I loved reading about Victor and Eli and their backstory. Seeing how they go to present day and what motivated them to be who they were. It was hard deciding who was the villain and who was the hero. Or were they both villains? Both heroes? Honestly, you have to decide for yourself.

I also liked how the Extra-Ordinaries (EO’s) were created. It was an interesting take on how people with super powers came to be.

Vengeful was not nearly as good. It was mainly about a new character, Marcella, but the book gave me no reason to like her or want to care about her story. Victor and Eli were hardly in it, but I think they both should have still been the main focal point. Marcella just wasn’t interesting enough for me to care to read basically an entire book about her.

I hope book 3 goes back to focusing on Victor and Eli.

Still love this series and definitely recommend it.
